May 31 & June 1, 2013 - California Interscholastic Federation State Championships - Buchanan High School, Clovis - Freshman Mecca McGlaston became the first female in DHS history to qualify into the State finals, taking 3rd in her heat on Friday will a personal best and school record time of 14.25.  In the finals on Saturday, she ended up with an 8th place finish, capping off a meet where she was originally seeded 14th.  She finishes the season with the #2 wind legal freshman time in the entire United States, #6 freshman in the US in any conditions, #54 wind legal overall in the US, #1 freshman in California and #12 overall in California.  CIF State Results

May 24 & 25, 2013 - North Coast Section Meet of Champions - Edwards Stadium @ UC Berkeley - On Friday in the trials, Freshman Mecca McGlaston won her heat in the 100 Hurdles, setting a up a showdown with 4 of the top 10 girls in California.  The odds were significantly stacked against her to qualify to the California Interscholastic Federation State Championships - she was the 4th seed with only 3 berths available and the girls ahead of her were all seniors and qualifiers from 2012 (including the national leader in the event Sasha Wallace from Castro Valley High School).   Bursting out of the blocks like a cannon, she got to the 2nd hurdle with Wallace, putting major pressure on the other two.  Only one of them was able to make up the tremendous start of McGlaston, guaranteeing her a spot to the state championships with a 14.41 performance into a stiff headwind.  She becomes only the 3rd female in DHS history to make it this far and she becomes the highest finisher ever for a female at NCSMOC.  Junior Martin Yau, who is the first Gael to make it to NCSMOC in the pole vault, took 13th out of 24 vaulters, clearing 13’0”.  The Girls 4x100 relay team of McGlaston-Bouchard-Tran-Kelley (also a 1st in DHS history) took 14th with a 50.04 and the Boys 4x100 relay team of Lockett-Jones-Olayomi-Huggins took 13th with a seasonal best of 43.53.  NCSMOC Complete Results    NCSMOC Meet Bulletin (includes schedule)    NCSMOC Performance List

May 8, 2013 - DFAL Championships Varsity Trials - Campolindo HS, Moraga - With the field events contesting half of their finals today, sophomore Darrell Millinder fell in line with some of the great recent Dublin jumpers in the past, qualifying in both the triple jump (3rd - 40’8.5”) and high jump (2nd - 6’0”), moving on to the North Coast Section Tri-Valley Championships.  Joining him at NCSTV will be seniors Nick Katsarelis (3rd Discus - 124’6” PR) and Ondre Rudolph (2nd Discus - 136’8”), junior Danielle Moon (3rd Triple Jump - 31’10.25”) and sophomore Tatiana Bouri (2nd Triple Jump - 32’8.5’’).  In the running event trials, freshman Mecca McGlaston continues to amaze the local track community, running a new personal best 14.49 in the trials of the 100HH, breaking her own school record of 14.71 from Sacramento Meet of Champions.  She wasn’t done, however, as she ran a lifetime best in the 200m of 25.65, giving her the top seed going into Friday’s final in both her individual events.  There are plenty of other Gaels moving on to the finals on Friday - seniors Mitch Kless (300H - 43.66) and Adeola Olayomi (100 - 11.60 heat winner & 200 - 23.12); juniors Jillian Colwell (800 - 2:35.47), Alexander Huggins (200 - 23.12 PR & heat winner & 400 - 51.22 PR & heat winner), Ryland Lyons (800 - 2:04.64 PR), Moon (100HH - 17.33) and Abigail Sweeney (400 - 64.15); sophomores Ryan Jones (200 - 23.39), Joshua Nobida (110HH - 17.45) and Vanessa Poupich (200 - 27.53 & 400 - 61.79); and freshman Jessica Bouchard (100 - 12.97 & 200 - 27.53), Anders Colwell (800 - 2:04.86 PR) and Gabrielle Gamboa (800 - 2:32.45 heat winner).  Complete DFAL Trials Results

Girls 4x100 Sets DHS Mark; McGlaston Shatters Meet Record

April 27, 2013 - Sacramento Meet of Champions - American River College, Sacramento - The meet got started off in record breaking fashion as the Girls 4x100m relay team comprised of sophomores Alexxis Kelley and Alicia Tran and freshmen Jessica Bouchard and Mecca McGlaston became the first girls team in Dublin High School history to break 50 seconds, winning their heat in a time of 49.95.  McGlaston wasn’t done breaking records, however, as she not only won the day meet breaking her own DHS record in the 100 High Hurdles in a time of 14.71 (breaking 15 for the first time!), but also crushed the meet record of 15.03!  She then went on to take 2nd in the 100m with a personal best of 12.44.  Sacramento MOC Results    Girls 4x100 SMOC Video    McGlaston SMOC 100HH Video    McGlaston SMOC 100 Video

April 26, 2013 - Charile Eaton/Bob Warren Relays - Acalanes High School, Lafayette - The Frosh/Soph Girls 4x1600m relay team got the meet started off extremely well, winning the first race of the day with the team of sophomore Karina Gurusiddaiah (6:29.9) and freshmen Gabrielle Gamboa (5:53.0), Lillian Kim (6:37.7) and Montana Nielson (5:55.5).  Not to be outdone were their boy frosh/soph counterparts who also won their division with a team of sophomores Goutham Marimuthu (5:02.9), Lucas Warzyniak (5:14.9) and David Yeshiwas (4:51.3 PR) and freshman Grant Lemen (5:20.5).  Sophomore Ryan Jones won a highly contested frosh/soph 100m, winning in 11.54, while freshman Davis Zamboanga also won the frosh/soph 3200m with a lifetime best of 10:25.45.  The Frosh/Soph Boys 4x800 team also brought home some hardware with a 2nd place performance behind Marimuthu (2:14.9), Yeshiwas (2:16.3) and freshmen Calvin Ball (2:22.9) and Anders Colwell (2:08.0).  Sophomore Zachary Schmidt obliterated the 10-minute mark in the varsity 3200m, taking 2nd place with a personal best of 9:47.13.  Other medalists included junior Martin Yau (13’0” Pole Vault - 3rd place), sophomore Vanessa Poupich (13.33 100m PR), freshmen Karissa Haubert (30’10.75” Triple Jump - 2nd and 4’6” High Jump - 2nd) and Sean Fukamaki (9’ Pole Vault - 3rd place) and the frosh/soph girls 4x400 team (Gamboa 67.3 - sophomore Savannah Wieser 69.4 - Nielson 69.6 PR - Poupich 63.4).  Dublin Results CEBWR    Complete Results CEBWR

January 19, 2013 - Skyline All-Comers - All field event athletes are expected to arrive at Skyline High School at 8:00 AM and running event athletes at 9:00 AM (travel time from DHS is about 30 minutes).  The address is 12250 Skyline Blvd., Oakland and the cost for athletes and spectators is $5.  The student athletes are to arrange their own transportation to and from the meet.  Event Sheet 1-19-13 (updated 1/17/13 @ 11:25PM)

October 24, 2012 - Winter sports physicals are available at Tri-Valley Orthopedics Specialists, Inc. located at 4626 Willow Road, Pleasanton from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM for $35.  Athletic packet and parent accompany required.  Remember the 2012-13 Athletic Sports Packet is due the first day of practice on Monday, February 4, 2013.  Winter Sports Physical Flyer

Student Athlete Meeting
